Henry Edwards and his lovely Mummy Morgan have joined our brand rep family - here is their story.

"Our beautiful boy Henry was born 8 months ago today, and I can't believe how much time is flying. It's been such a wonderful adventure, filled with so many more joys, challenges and rewards than I could ever have anticipated. I personally suffer from Coeliacs disease and have a long family history of atopy. I so desperately wanted to avoid a life of allergy and struggles with diet and food for Henry, and so I attempted early to expose him to potential allergens. As a doctor with a science background, this made a lot of sense to me, and we certainly made some headway with this. However despite my best intentions, Henry started developing eczematous skin plaques once we began dairy based formula top ups, and whilst these abated quickly when we changed to a non-dairy formula, it became apparent he is sensitive to dairy and gluten like me. When it came to introducing solids I decided to make the most of the situation, making Henry dairy free and gluten free foods that are also organic where possible. Fortunately I love cooking, and we are also very lucky to have a fantastic farmers market on our street each weekend - so sourcing good quality produce is relatively easy. The change in his skin and general demeanour was almost instant! It also helps that I quite like eating his food too...

His sensitive skin also reacts to cheaper brands of nappies, certain creams, and the coarse clothing tags in many of the big chain store clothes, turning our usually delightfully happy baby boy into a tearful, grizzly one. The former two are easily avoidable – especially with lovely organic skincare products, but the search for clothing that was gentle on his skin yet still cool at the same time was proving a challenge – until we discovered Bam + Boo! I'm a little obsessed with baby fashion and to say I LOVE their style is an understatement. Henry looks handsome + dapper, his skin is happy, and best of all the clothes last beautifully - despite being worn so often they’re almost constantly in the wash.

And so it's not all bad for our wee Henry. He might be sensitive to certain foods, materials and fibres however I love that with a bit of culinary exploration and some thoughtful purchasing, he doesn't need to miss out on delicious foods, and I don't need to miss out dressing him up each morning!"
